Re: Jesus is my Propitiation

Before I answer you what is your name?
In any event, are you saying that God caused, ordained, or whatever word you choose to use, Josephs brothers to sell him into slavery?
Are you saying God caused the famine?
People unable to eat and slavery are evil. So are you saying God causes evil?
While I do not enjoy debating Calvinist I d ask that we remain civil on my blog. While I believe you to be wrong I am not calling you a heretic. I understand you disagree and I don't care. I am only concerned that all people will choose to have a loving relationship with the Triune God. If you can not accept my right to disagree with you then please leave this blog. Fact is that neither of us is right. We are all (Calvin Augustine and Wesley included) are more wrong then we are right. So let us let love tolerance and humility rule this place.

I do not mean to be unloving. Pointing out error is, to me, very loving. I'm sorry if I sound offensive or arrogant. I know what I believe and I am convinced I am more right than wrong. I do not write in your blog to offend you or to debate you, but in an attempt to teach you and to comfort you. If you are not teachable and find me to be a sorry comfort, I'm wasting both our time.

You have been through some trying times and your view of God has not lent you any comfort. You do not know the comfort that Joseph had, who knew God would work things out. You did not experience the comfort that Daniel had in the lion's den, knowing that God would preserve him in either life or death. You do not exhibit the comfort of Paul who sang during imprisonments, who got up from being stoned and left for dead and went back into the city to preach the Word of God again. You do not speak of the comfort I have known through trials in my life, that my loving Father is in control and has promised not to give me more than I can handle.

To answer your questions, yes, God caused the famine and yes, God caused Joseph's brothers to sell him into Slavery. Joseph's brothers meant it for evil. To them, because they did it, it was evil. But, God meant it for good. The Bible doesn't teach that people unable to eat and slavery are always evil. Remember, God sent the entire nation of Israel into slavery, twice. The first time He sent them to Egypt, where they were enslaved, and the second time he sent them to Assyria and Babylon.

Yes, God brought about the famine in Egypt - the Bible says so. See Genesis 41:28 & 32. Joseph says to Pharaoh about the coming time of plenty & the coming time of famine, 28:"God has told Pharaoh what He {God} is about to do." & 32: "God will quickly bring it about." The Bible says right there that God planned and caused the famine.

If you respond to me "leave my blog" - I will never write on your blog again. But, I leave you with this,

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Hey 1 John 4:10, Jesus is my Propitiation

Why don't you come over and talk on my blog spot and give Bill and Tolani a break. I am sure you and I could have some good discourse.

Bill and Tolani have enough on their plate to deal with, without you giving them a lecture or filling up Bill's blog with your topic of discussion, but my blog spot could use someone like you to help me out. So, leave Bill to work out his own salvation according to God's will in his life, I am sure the Lord knows what He is doing and I am also sure that Bill is listening to what the Lord is telling him.

So, come on down and visit me. Hey Mikey, you'll drop by too won't you? I think it would be a good challenge for us to have 1 John 4:10 come visit my blog.

May the Lord enlighten you to His love and His grace.

Hi, Cheri (a.k.a. Goofy),

I'm not in this discussion. All I did was add a prayer for Bill and Tolani who are going through a time of difficulty with health issues. I'm ot smart enough to get involved in the theologial discourse that is going on. I will say that this earth is under a curse because of the fall of man and even Christians are made to suffer. Knowing Jesus as Saviour won't make God our Santa Claus and give us everything we want. He heals whom He chooses and I only asked Him to be there for Bill and Tolani! We have a right to ask God for anything, but I have learned He doesn't always give us everything we want.

I would like to see Bill and Tolani receive only better circumstances as it relates to Tolani's health and I prayed to God in that regard.

God bless, Cheri!

Mikey (lloyd michael fletcher)
